Vision Plans
A vision plan is not the same as medical health insurance. Regular health insurance plans protect you against financial losses due to unexpected eye injuries or disease. Vision plans, on the other hand, is a wellness benefit designed to provide routine eye care, prescription eyewear and other vision-related services at a reduced cost.
Many current vision plans are designed to cover most of the basic vision-related costs, but not all costs associated with eye care and eyewear. Most plans require a co-payment for the eye examination and offer additional allowances and benefits which are applied toward the cost of your purchase of frames, eyeglass lenses and contact lenses.

Insurance Plan Tips
1. Eye Exam Coverage
Some medical insurance plans include coverage for routine eye exams others only provide coverage for medical eye exams. Vision plans usually cover routine eye exam.
2. Contact Your Insurance Company to Check Coverage
Please check with your medical and vision insurance companies to verify your coverage prior to your visit. Your insurance company's website is a good resource to understand your benefits.
3. Plan ahead each year
Each year you can select a new vision plan that covers your needs. By planning ahead, you can select a plan that includes things like contact lenses, anti-glare coating, and progressive lenses that may only be covered by signing up for a higher coverage plan.
